Inkblot 1
I had a lot of fun in the studio making inkblots with inks and paints. I tend to overthink and overwork my patterns before I start cutting metal and enameling. I put on some music; Debussy's Clair de Lune this day. I just let whatever happened happen. The next day when I had a fresh perspective, I picked my favorite inkblots and started making earrings just as the initial spontaneous moment presented itself.
In this print, I see an exploding head and turkey torso with a brain. What do you see?
Each element is enameled multiple times with a layer of opaque and transparent enamels for depth and finally, a hand painted graphite surface that is textured with paper to mimic the bleeding affect of the inks in the original print.
